GUESS WHAT WE'RE GETTING FOR CHRISTMAS???
This morning Michael and I received a phone call from our agency, that the ICBF in Colombia decided to review our case and consider our appeal and we got "OFFICIALLY APPROVED" to adopt Catalina, Patricia & Daniela!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The details of the unfolding of events are tremendous (too long to post at this time), the roller-coaster ride (not always so much fun), many tears shed, but in the end, God was in control all along, like my Mom always says: "Silently preparing His perfect plan for our lives, in the depths of His unfailing love!!!"
OK, as far as details go, because most of the courts are closed for the holidays in Colombia right now, we will probably not finalize all the details for our trip until mid to end of January and if all goes well and according to schedule, we may be going to pick up our three beloved daughters sometime in February, which just happens to be the month of my (Sharon's) 40Th B-day - what a B-day gift huh??? :>)
All we can say is WOW, we are unbelievably overwhelmed with this amazing unexpected news. What an amazing gift God had bestowed upon us. May we be a blessing to those dear precious little ones!!!
Much love today & always!

CONGRATULATIONS RODDY & SONIA!!!
EVERYONE STILL IN THEIR PJ'S, SURPRISED RIGHT OUT OF BED TO CELEBRATE!!!
THEY DEFINITELY LOOK BETTER WHEN THEY'RE ALL CLEAN-UP HUH??? :>)
My older brother Roderick (Roddy to us) and his wife Sonia celebrated their 25Th anniversary today. Their children surprised them this morning, by waking them up with a beautiful breakfast basket and flowers. They are indeed such a beautiful couple and a real awesome example of what marriage should be. May God bless their next 25 years richly and may their home be filled with love and happiness for many more years after that!!! ***Oh, by the way, Dad is doing great, he is out of the hospital recovering in Roddy's home, so he also got to participate in the "Anniversary Celebration"!

TORTURING GIGI WHILE WE WAIT FOR KIDS!!!

Poor Gigi, she has been our "Baby" for a while and I think she can hardly wait till the "Real" kids arrive, so that she can finally stop being tortured by having to wear all the latest "bow wow fashions"!!!
***Thanks again for all your prayers! Dad is recovering quite well, he's already out of ICU and in a regular room in the cardiac care unit. He is weak and doesn't have an appetite (which is to be expected after such major surgery), but his recovery is completely on track. This is GREAT NEWS for our family!!!
A HOPEFUL MICHAEL!!!
I absolutely love this picture of Michael, it is actually one of my favorites. It was taken while we were vacationing in Recife Brazil. He seems so free and so filled with hope, it is just him in the big ocean, with a tiny little boat in the horizon, going wherever our dreams will take us. Even now during our "EXCRUCIATING WAIT, FILLED WITH SO MANY UNKNOWNS", looking at this picture always puts a smile on my face and a glimpse of hope in my heart!!!

IT WAS A GREAT SURGERY!!!
Dad trying to enjoy the snow at aunt Mary & uncle Jimmy's home in Scotland (definitely makes him miss the Brazilian sunshine he's so addicted to)!Happy Friday everyone!!!
Don't y'all just love Fridays? cause it means the weekend is FINALLY here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dads surgery ended up being yesterday instead of Wednesday (as I had originally posted), it lasted from 9:30 am to 4pm - very, very long! The surgery was a success, now he is being closely monitored & recovering in ICU. Hopefully, if all continues to go well, he should be out of ICU next week and in a regular room in the cardiac unit.
Thanks sooooooooooooo much to all who remembered to pray for him and please continue to pray for a full & complete recovery!

PRAYING FOR A BABY BOY IN GUATEMALA!!!
Dad's surgery is tomorrow, PLEASE continue to remember him in your prayers!
Also, we had previously mentioned a beautiful family we've met through the adoption blog-land, they adopted a beautiful little girl from China, are currently in Guatemala adopting a little 4 year old girl and are also adopting a precious little baby boy, who they were supposed to "get" this past Sunday. Unfortunately, the little guy had to be hospitalized for Rota-virus and is now dehydrated, he is only 2 months old, so this is very serious.
The family has asked for prayers, so PLEASE, PLEASE pray that the Lord will be ever so near to them right now, comforting their hearts, touching their little baby Ollie's body and that he may be completely healed. May he be placed in the arms of this loving family VERY, VERY SOON - AMEN!!!

UPDATE ON DAD!!!
Thanks for all the prayers for my Dad!
He's flying from Recife-Brazil to Sao Paulo-Brazil tomorrow (12/4) and will have the critical surgery on Wednesday (12/6). They are going to completely remove his original quadruple bi-pass and replace it with a brand new one.
I've spoken to him a few times this past week and he is feeling very peaceful, he knows he will be operated on by some of the best cardiologists in Brazil and ultimately God is the one in control of the whole thing, so his life is in the best place it could be right now!
Of course we are all praying for a successful surgery and full and fast recovery.
We thank you from the bottom of out hearts for your prayers!!!
